Pentecostal Credit Union’s (PCU) CEO, Shane Bowes has appeared appearing on Trinity Broadcasting Network UK, after taking part in a ‘TBN meets’ interview with the station’s CEO, Leon Schoeman.

TBN is the world's largest Christian broadcaster, with over 30 global networks airing a broad range of church and ministry programming, Christian music, family-friendly movies, children's programming, and shows for teens and young adults to every inhabited continent.

The interview consisted about the work of PCU supporting entrepreneurship, faith charities and young people. Shane shared with audiences about the work PCCU support in their community and how they have successfully educated youths to be established members and part of their Youth Shadow Board.

Shane described that the early years of PCU consisted of hard work and dedication which saw the PCU grow quickly. The Pentecostal churches grew too and remain a strong influence on PCU’s work and still making differences in people’s lives and, above all, doing so in ways that reflect faith and their backgrounds as members of the African Diaspora.

One of PCU’s greatest achievements is the establishment of The Youth Shadow Board. The Youth Shadow Board is a leadership development programme where PCU junior savers act as a governance board to not only develop themselves in the financial sector, but to develop PCU in membership growth and successful marketing campaigns. The Youth Shadow Board operates just the same as a credit union board with a chair, treasurer, secretary and they have a budget that they manage.

Speaking on the TBN about the work PCCU have done in recent years in the communities Shane said “It wasn’t until the 1990’s that PCCU began to make loans to churches themselves, but since the mid-90s the credit union has managed to purchase 19 buildings for individual church groups. In addition to that one of the churches that PCCU helped to buy their own buildings was Tabernacle Christian Centre which has been widely lauded for the help that they offer to the victims of the Grenfell fire. So the impact that the credit union has had you know cannot be underestimated.

The interview is being repeated on tomorrow (14 July) at 19:30, Monday 16th July at 10:05 am and finally on Wednesday 18 July at 01:30 am. You can tune in to TBN UK on Freeview 65 or Sky 582.
