Police Credit Union Celebrates £¼ Billion Lending Milestone

07 Dec 18

Police Credit Union recently celebrated lending over £250 million to its members.

The Police Credit Union (PCU) was set up by the police, for the whole of the police family – serving and retired police officers, police staff and members of their households. It now serves over 25,000 members covering England and Wales for the wider protective services including prison officers, probation officers and members of the armed forces.

CEO of PCU, Paul Norgrove has thanked the staff team at the credit union for the remarkable achievement of hitting the £250 million milestone and their continued support to help those who dedicate their lives to ‘Serve and Protect’. Paul said: “Everyone at Police Credit Union is extremely proud of achieving this fantastic milestone. Credit to our team and their continued efforts in supporting the financial needs of our members. We remain committed to helping those who dedicate their lives to Serve & Protect.

“As we continue to expand both membership and lending, our financial position goes from strength to strength - meaning we can continue to provide competitive returns and invest toward improving the range of services on offer to our members.”

At the beginning of this year, PCU was awarded the 5- star Fairbanking Mark for their lending by the Fairbanking Foundation. This followed a rigorous assessment which included independent research involving the members of the credit union who confirmed that they have changed their financial behaviour for the better by having the product. Paul added: “PCU is extremely pleased to receive the maximum mark awarded for its loan products. Achieving a 5-star rating from the Fairbanking Foundation shows our dedication to providing financial well-being solutions to our members, especially during the current financial climate.

“We will continue our efforts to provide the best service and customer experience to our members and those who join the Police Credit Union, which serves those who serve and protect our country.”
